William Bainbridge Hartwell was born Sept.5,1834 at Groton,Massachusetts,the third child of Amasa and Mary Hartwell.He married Ann M. Vose,daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann[Meacham]Vose of Amherst,New Hampshire on April 18,1857.She was born April 3,1841,died March 15,1907.They had four children-

William Bainbridge settled in Amherst,removed to Wilton,N.H.,and in 1857 moved to Pittsfield,N.H.He was a millwright and lumberman.He died Dec. 3,1907.
